“Spirit and Truth affected my life in so many positive ways, from getting to meet and know Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, as well as meeting my wife (as we met and started dating while attending S&T together). In our world today, we need more groups like this to bring our attention back to Christ and His Church. I strongly encourage any young adult to become an active member of S&T and not only meet Christ in the Eucharist, but other faithful young Catholics that share the same faith as you. Countless lives have been impacted by this group, including mine, and I guarantee you will find a home within this incredible group. To God be the glory, now and forever.”

“I have been part of the Spirit and Truth of Illinois community since 2008. Spirit and Truth was very refreshing to me because I met so many people on fire for the Lord and the Catholic Church. I have made lifelong friends from attending Spirit and Truth. My prayer life really was changed by going to Sprit and Truth, where I met Jesus Christ eye to eye in the Blessed Sacrament. I would encourage any young adult ages 18-40 to give Spirit and Truth a try and encounter not only our living God, but lifelong friends.”
-Michael Bannon, 25, Coordinator of Catechesis and Youth Ministry at St. Joseph’s in Libertyville, IL
“I have been going to Spirit and Truth on and off for the past eight years. I love that it provides the opportunity to learn about my faith and spend quiet time in Eucharistic Adoration. Through Adoration I have found peace, answers, encouragement, and experienced God’s presence in profound ways. I have met and made many great friends through Spirit and Truth, and I like that there is always fellowship afterwards. It’s a great way to meet people who share the same Catholic values as you do.”
-Melissa Novak, 28 years old, Youth Minister/Director of Religious Education and Author
It is amazing to me that I was really only a part of S&T for 3 1/2 years. I had met my husband through S&T and after our first child was born I knew that I was not going to be able to lead the group anymore. I always felt though, in my heart of hearts, that if the Holy Spirit, not me, was leading S&T, it would survive beyond me. I am blown away at all the lives that it has touched over the years!
-Cori Miles, Founding Coordinator of Spirit and Truth
“I came upon Spirit and Truth while I was in college and I was in a spot where I was really questioning my Catholic faith. The community of young men and women at S&T showed me that there are committed Catholics who love the Lord. S&T strengthened my faith and helped me discern my vocation to the priesthood.”
Mark Bernhard, Seminarian for the Diocese of Joliet.
I have attended since Fr. Burke started Spirit & Truth and it has been awesome to see how it has continued through the years. I continue to pray that Spirit & Truth will continue for the next generation of 18-40 year olds. I hope it continues to draw more closer to their relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Put your phone away, enter the silence and listen to what you are being called too.
